M.o.p Felicitates Arjuna Awardee Ms. Vaishali R, Indian Chess Grandmaster

M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women is delighted to felicitate its student, Chess Grandmaster Vaishali R., on being conferred the Arjuna Award earlier this month. The felicitation function, which is scheduled for Jan 29, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at the College premises, will be presided over by Mr. J. Meghanatha Reddy, I.A.S., Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu. The College will place on record its appreciation of Ms. Vaishali’s remarkable achievement by presenting her with a high configuration tablet computer worth Rs. 1 lakh, to facilitate her progress in the sport of chess, and remote learning, as she works towards her Master’s degree in Human Resource Management at M.O.P. Vaishnav College. Vaishali Rameshbabu, FIDE Grandmaster, is a II-year student of M.A. Human Resource Management at M.O.P. Vaishnav. She was a vital part of the women’s team that bagged the silver medal at the Asian Games held at Hangzhou, China, in 2023, and had been awarded with a prize of Rs. 1 lakh by the College management in appreciation of that accomplishment.

M.o.p. Vaishnav College Celebrates Sporting Triumphs In Asian Games 2023

M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women hosted a grand Felicitation Function on Friday, 10th November 2023, to applaud the outstanding achievements of its sports stars, Ms. Vaishali R and Ms. Sruthy R, in the 19th Asian Games held at Hangzhou, China. Ms. Vaishali R, the Chess Silver Medalist, and Ms. Sruthy R, who represented India in Basketball, were honoured with cash prizes of Rs. 1,00,000 and Rs. 25,000 respectively. The event, held at the college campus, was graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand, a 5-time World Chess Champion & Deputy President of FIDE.In attendance were the college’s staff and students, gathered to celebrate these remarkable accomplishments. M.O.P. Vaishnav College extends heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Vaishali R and Ms. Sruthy R, expressing pride in their achievements and wishing them continued success on their journey.
