The National Cadet Corps Unit of the college aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst the students. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC has helped in bringing out the sense of patriotism, discipline, unity and obedience in young students.
It brings out comradeship and initiates selfless service among the youngsters of the country. NCC has been a platform for women to overcome their fears and to face the world as prominent leaders and the cadets have consistently added to the glories of the directorate.
Major achievements of the NCC Unit
The NCC Army Wing of M.O.P. Vaishnav College belongs to 1 Tamilnadu Girls Battalion.
CSUO G.Vaishali won the All India Best Cadet Gold in 2012 from the Honourable Former Prime Minister of India, Shri. Manmohan Singh
CSUO Rakshna S. won the All India Best Cadet Gold in 2019 from the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi
CUO Yogareethika D. attended the Basic Mountaineering camp conducted in the Himalayas in 2019.
Participation in the Republic Day Camp (RDC) every year and selected cadets participate in the Republic Day Parade held at Delhi and take part in the PM Rally.
Participation in prestigious national camps like G. V. Mavlankar Camp, Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat National Integration Camp, Combined Annual Training Camp and Training Attachment Camp.
Participation in the Tal Sainik Camp (TSC) which trains cadets in firing, obstacle training and tent pitching.
Cadets have participated in the Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) held at Singapore, Russia and Nepal.
Several cadets have joined the Indian Armed Forces

Community Building Activities undertaken the NCC Unit
The National Cadet Corps has embraced community-building programmes with the aim of instilling in its cadets selfless service to society, the need to support the disadvantaged section of society. This is accomplished by the NCC of the college through varieties of programmes targeted at helping the society and instilling in its cadets a desire to assist their society, community, and nation.
Youth Exchange Program
SUO Sathyashree RB has been a part of All India Senior Wing Standing Contingent in Republic Day Camp 2023 and participated in the Youth Exchange Program in Vietnam being one of the 13 youth ambassadors representing India.
- SUO Samyuktha PR has been a part of All India Senior Wing Marching Contingent in Republic Day Camp 2023 and participated in the Youth Exchange Program in Bhutan being one of the 13 youth ambassadors representing India.
Adventure Camp
1.SGT Indira D was the only Women cadet to participate in the Basic Mountaineering Course in Pahalgam, Jammu in 2022 for a period of 20 days and received ”A Grade certification” for the same. She was further recommended for the Advance Mountaineering Course.
Thal Sainik Camp Delhi
CUO Saranya S got selected for the All India Thal Sainik Camp 2023. She was nominated under Field Craft and Battle craft competition to compete with around 17 directorates. She also earned her prestigious TSC Delhi Badge for participating in this camp and to represent Tamil Nadu.
Marina Republic Day Camp
Every year, many M.O.P NCC cadets get selected to be a part of Marina Republic Day Camp. Last Year CSM Dhanusri SR and CQMS Kavipriya V was one among 27 cadets from Chennai to participate in the Marching Contingent of Marina Republic Day celebration in front of our Honourable Chief Minister and Governor of Tamil Nadu.

Special National Integration Camp
CUO Tarika Harshini S attended Special National Integration Camp at Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands in 2023. She was one among 5 cadets to represent Tamil Nadu at national level, where each state exchanged their cultural heritage and values.
SGT Amrita Prasad Gokhale attended SNIC Srinagar in 2024. Around 350 Cadets from all the 17 Directorates attended the camp.During the camp,the Cadets took part in competitions such as group song,group dance,quiz,poster making,tug of war and volleyball.
OVERALL ACHIEVEMENTS
M.O.P. NCC has been consistent and passionate in its efforts to compete and win in various inter collegiate events like Cado Fiesta, Cado Fest, Cado Sea breeze. We have secured the overall banner in the 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 13th Cado Fiesta organized by Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University.
Social Service Activities
With The Jawans
The cadets of M.O.P. celebrated the 76 th Independence day with the Jawans of 12 th Madras Regiment. The celebration was conducted to make the soldiers feel proud about their work and to create awareness on army life to civilians.
Invigorating Viands
This event was conducted in collaboration with M.O.P. Prakrithi club to mark the “Week of
Healthy Lifestyle” and to explore healthy recipes with natural ingredients. This event gave knowledge about the balanced diet and importance of taking care of our health by intake of healthy food.
Pawfect Marathon
The cadets of M.O.P. Organized a charity Marathon of 5km run in collaboration with “Hope for critters”, an animal welfare shelter and also raised funds for its welfare. It was conducted on 24.12.23 from Olcott school higher secondary school to Aavin Milk point , Besant Nagar. The event was flagged off by actress Keerthi Pandian.
Blood Donation Campaign
This event was conducted on 27.11.23 in collaboration with 1 TN GIRLS BATTALION UNIT
To create awareness on the importance of donating blood to the people and to make them know that the people have the responsibility to donate blood as being a true citizen. Many cadets from various colleges participated in this event to make it more effective.
Ddg Appreciation Award
M.O.P. Vaishnav College For Women has won the “Best Institution” for its immaculate performance and achievements.
Lt.Vivitha S,ANO of M.O.P Vaishnav College For Women has won the “Best ANO Award 2023” by the Deputy Director General of Tamil Nadu Puducherry Andaman & Nicobar directorate, Commodore Atul Kumar Rastogi.
Inter Directorate Sports Shooting Competition
SGT Harippriya S has been selected and has displayed her impressive talent in rifle and pistol shooting events. She was nominated in the category of Peep Sight for the 49th Tamil Nadu State Sports shooting Competition 2024 at National Rifle Association of India , Coimbatore.
