M.O.P Cares – PAGIR

PAGIR

‘Pagir’ (a Tamil word meaning ‘to share’), a social responsibility initiative of M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women, was inaugurated on July 24, 2018, by the Consul General, Her Excellency Ms. Krongkanit Rakcharoen of The Royal Thai Consulate, Chennai. This is a continuation of the ‘Daan’ community service project, which was initiated in the silver jubilee year of the college. Pagir focuses on inculcating the values of sharing and caring in students. Under this banner, departments undertook community service projects in which resources were shared with the underprivileged.

Some of the activities conducted under the banner of PAGIR includes:

Imparting mathematical knowledge to under privileged students

Designing & painting walls of the Pediatric Block of Stanley Medical College

Eye donation pledge

Contribution of essentials to underprivileged school students - Clothes, Books, Sanitary napkins, and Stationery

Sharing of eco – friendly packaging products at retail stores
