INTERNSHIP

The goal of our internship program is to impart the necessary knowledge to our students and train them on the fundamental management and production skills pertaining to community radio. The internship program is designed to accommodate students’ schedules, providing flexible and comprehensive learning opportunities at the same time. Interns receive in-depth training in radio programming, audio editing, sound recording, scriptwriting, radio jockeying, and other critical facets of radio broadcasting. Upon completion of Internship, students receive a certificate appreciating theirskillsets and achievements thereby enhancing their professional portfolio.

PROGRAMS

M.O.P CRS broadcasts 16 hours of diverse and impactful programmeson a daily basis ensuring “voice to the voiceless.” The fixed-point chart covers a broad range of subjects, including health and hygiene, education, women’s entrepreneurship, environment, climate change, energy conservation, and youth empowerment. The programs use a range of forms, including radio talks, jingles, Vox-Pops, interviews, panel discussions, public service announcements, and more, emphasizing on highlighting the voices of the underrepresented on important social problems. The initiatives are designed to ensure development in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

OUTREACH

M.O.P. CRS is committed to reaching the community using a wide range of outreach initiatives to increase our impact and facilitate social change. Over the years, M.O.P. CRS has carried out a number of outreach initiatives in many zones, enhancing a robust community network. With the support of our committed student volunteers, these initiatives focus on raising awareness about important social issues, including the benefits of avoiding plastic, promoting hygiene, cleaning beaches, conserving water, planting trees, ensuring road safety, empowering women, practicing yoga, and addressing climate change. Our outreach efforts are crucial in fostering community engagement and promoting social responsibility. M.O.P. CRS had conducted various outreach activities over the years in several zones thereby strengthening a strong community network.

PROJECTS

MOP CRS has established partnerships with recognized organizations such as UNICEF, UNESCO, CRA, PoovulaginNanbargal, VigyanPrasar, SMART NGO, CEMCA, India Turns Pink, and others. We have successfully completed a number of government and non-government consultantancy projects, including Election campaign, COVID Vaccine Hesitancy Campaign, Factshala (Say No to Fake News), Pledge for Good Health, Climate Literacy Campaign, AriviyalPalagai, AVYAY. These projects demonstrate our dedication to achieving meaningful social change and community development. In line with these projects, experts from all over the country are invited to share their expertise through interviews, seminars, workshops and conferences.

RADIO CLUB

The MOP CRS Radio Club is a vibrant organization of student volunteers dedicated to promote social change through radio. The club provides an exciting environment for students to participate in critical discussions, create impactful content, and collaborate on numerous radio projects. Members of the radio club are actively involved in the management of community radio, event planning, and other activities. Students are given certificates to promote their accomplishments.

RJ HUNT AND WORKSOPS

RJ Hunt is an annual M.O.P. CRS event designed to help students discover and develop their hidden skills in radio jockeying and script writing. Students from various departments enthusiastically participate, showcasing their skills and creativity. Esteemed media personalities evaluate the competition, providing useful input and insights. Winners and participants are facilitated with certification and gain opportunities for further development through specialized workshops on radio programming and radio jockeying, conducted by industry experts.

AWARDS

MOP CRS has earned several recognitions for its excellence in management and various competitions. Notably, MOP CRS received a National Award for our Community Radio Project on Alcohol Rehabilitation and the CEMCA Community Radio Video Challenge Award, among others.
