B.Sc Food Science & Management

Program Overview

The Undergraduate Program in Food Science and Management established in the year 2008 (previously Nutrition, Food Service Management, and Dietetics) offers an amalgamation of Food, Nutrition and Management courses. The program trains students to be competent food industry professionals who can produce quality food by imparting better nutritional, sanitation, and hygiene practices. It prepares students with a wide range of skills to develop new food products, blueprint innovative processing technologies, improves food quality with high nutritive value, and enhance the safety of food.

The Department of Food Science signed an MoU with F1rstmr Business Analytics Private Limited (Business Associate of GIRACT, Switzerland) to improve the skill sets of the students to become Industry ready.
The Department holds a patent (Patent no. 202241028019A) on Dry kale leaf powder as a natural preservative in pickle.
